Brand Profile: Getting AI to sound like you

Updated over a week ago

Why Brand Profile Matters

Brand Profile is the secret to making LazyLines generate content that sounds authentically like YOU, not generic AI.

Without Brand Profile:

  • Generic content that could be from anyone

  • AI guesses at your tone and style

  • Content pillars are unknown

  • Target audience is unclear

With Brand Profile:

  • Content matches YOUR voice

  • Scripts feel authentic to your brand

  • Recommendations fit your niche

  • For You videos match your content pillars

  • Prompts are personalized to your business

The Goal: Give LazyLines enough context to become an extension of your brand voice.

The Three Sections

Brand Profile has three key sections you'll fill out:

  1. About You - Who you are, what you do, who you serve

  2. Voice & Style - How you communicate, your tone

  3. Content Topics - What you talk about (content pillars)

Section 1: About You

What to Include:

Business/Creator Info:

  • What you do (coach, agency, content creator, product business)

  • Your niche (fitness, productivity, marketing, etc.)

  • Your unique angle or expertise

  • Company name and positioning

Target Audience:

  • Who you create content for

  • Demographics (age, profession, interests)

  • Their pain points and goals

  • Example: "Busy entrepreneurs aged 25-40 who want to build personal brands"

Custom AI Instructions:

  • How you want AI to behave

  • Specific dos and don'ts

  • Content guidelines

  • Example: "Never use corporate jargon. Always include a personal story. Keep tone casual and relatable."

How to Add Information:

Text Field: Type directly into the large text box. You can format it however makes sense to you.

Add Links:

  • Paste URLs to your website, social profiles, past content

  • LazyLines will extract and analyze the content

  • Great for giving context quickly

Add Files:

  • Upload PDFs with brand guidelines

  • Past scripts that represent your style

  • Marketing materials

  • Any document that describes your brand

Example "About You" Entry:

I'm a productivity coach for creative entrepreneurs. I run a YouTube channel with 50k subscribers where I teach time management and focus techniques. My approach is practical, not theoretical - I only share what I've personally tested. My audience is 25-40, mostly freelancers and small business owners who feel overwhelmed. Important: Keep everything actionable. No fluff. Use "you" language. I tell personal stories to illustrate points. Never sound preachy or condescending.

Section 2: Voice & Style

This section teaches LazyLines to write in YOUR voice.

Two Approaches:

Option 1: Upload Sample Content

  • Upload 3-5 scripts you've written

  • Add links to posts you've created

  • Paste text from emails or captions you love

  • LazyLines analyzes the style and replicates it

Option 2: Describe Your Voice

  • Write out how you communicate

  • Describe your tone, word choice, sentence structure

  • Give examples of phrases you use vs. avoid

What Makes a Good Voice Description:

Be Specific:

❌ "Casual and friendly"

βœ… "I write like I'm texting a friend. Short sentences. Lots of questions. I use 'gonna' instead of 'going to' and start sentences with 'And' or 'But'. I'm enthusiastic but not over-the-top."

Include Don'ts:

  • "Never use corporate words like 'leverage' or 'synergy'"

  • "Don't be overly formal"

  • "Avoid long complicated sentences"

Give Examples:

  • "Instead of 'utilize', I say 'use'"

  • "I'd write 'Here's the thing...' not 'It is important to note that...'"

Example Voice Entry:

My style: Direct, no BS, but encouraging. I write how I speak. Word choice: - "You" not "one" - "Gonna" not "going to" - Simple everyday words, not fancy vocabulary Sentence structure: - Mix of short and medium sentences - Never go over 20 words in a sentence - Use fragments for emphasis. Like this. Tone: - Honest about struggles - Optimistic but realistic - I'll call out bad advice - Hype without being salesy Phrases I use: "Here's the deal...", "Real talk:", "This changed everything for me" Never use: Corporate jargon, excessive emojis, "revolutionary", "game-changing", anything that sounds fake

Section 3: Content Topics (Content Pillars)

Content pillars are the main themes you create content about.

How to Add Pillars:

  1. Click "Add Pillar"

  2. Name the pillar (e.g., "Productivity")

  3. Add main topics under that pillar

  4. Add sub-topics for more specificity

Example Structure:

Pillar: Productivity

  • Main Topics: Time management, Focus techniques, Morning routines

  • Sub-Topics: Pomodoro method, Deep work, Habit stacking, Calendar blocking

Pillar: Mindset

  • Main Topics: Motivation, Discipline, Overcoming procrastination

  • Sub-Topics: Identity shifts, Self-talk, Accountability systems

Pillar: Business Growth

  • Main Topics: Content strategy, Audience building, Monetization

  • Sub-Topics: YouTube growth, Email list building, Digital products

Why Pillars Matter:

  1. For You Videos: LazyLines curates viral videos based on your pillars (updated weekly)

  2. Content Planning: AI suggests ideas within your pillars

  3. Consistency: Keeps recommendations aligned with your brand

  4. Better Scripts: AI knows what topics fit your channel

How Many Pillars?

  • Minimum: 2-3 pillars

  • Sweet Spot: 3-5 pillars

  • Maximum: Don't go over 7 (keeps focus tight)

Brand Profile Size Indicator

On the left side, you'll see a Brand Profile Size bar showing how complete your profile is.

What It Measures:

  • Amount of content in About You section

  • Number of voice/style examples

  • Content pillars and topics defined

Size Guide:

  • Small (Red): Not enough context, AI will struggle

  • Medium (Yellow): Basic personalization possible

  • Large (Green): Excellent context, best results

Goal: Get to "Large" for optimal personalization.

But Don't Overthink It:

  • You don't need to write a novel

  • 2-3 paragraphs in About You

  • 3-5 style examples or a good description

  • 3-5 content pillars with topics

  • This gets you to "Large"

You Can Always Add More: Brand Profile isn't set in stone. Come back and add:

  • More examples as you create content

  • New pillars as you expand topics

  • Updated audience info as you grow

Testing Your Brand Profile

After filling out your profile:

  1. Start a new chat

  2. Turn Brand Profile toggle ON

  3. Ask: "Write a 60-second script about [topic in your niche]"

  4. Check if it sounds like you

  5. If not, refine your Voice & Style section

Iterate Until It Clicks:

  • First attempt might not be perfect

  • Add more specific examples to Voice section

  • Update About You with clearer instructions

  • The more you refine, the better AI gets at mimicking you
