What is Canvas?

Canvas is LazyLines' built-in content editor that appears automatically when you ask the AI to create:

  • Video/audio scripts (TikTok, Reels, YouTube, podcasts)

  • Social media posts (Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook)

  • Email copy (marketing, newsletters, cold outreach)

  • Creative writing and stories

  • Ad copy and sales copy

Canvas does NOT appear for:

  • Short content under 150 characters (shown as lists instead)

  • Research, analysis, or explanations

  • Lists of recommendations

  • Long-form articles (need markdown formatting)

Canvas Features

When content appears in canvas, you get a powerful editor:

1. Title Section

  • Descriptive title (like a YouTube title)

  • Under 60 characters

  • Tells you what the content is about

2. Editable Content Area

  • Plain text format (no markdown)

  • Click anywhere to edit manually

  • Formatted for readability with proper spacing

3. Highlight to Edit

  • Select any text in the canvas

  • Ask AI to revise just that section

  • Example: Highlight the hook → "Make this more engaging"

4. Toolbar Actions

  • Undo: Revert last change

  • Redo: Restore undone change

  • Save: Save to your Saved library

  • Download: Get as a text file

  • Copy: Copy entire content to clipboard

Editing in Canvas

Manual Editing:

  1. Click anywhere in the content

  2. Type your changes directly

  3. Changes save automatically while editing

AI-Assisted Editing:

  1. Highlight the section you want to improve

  2. In the chat input, describe the change:

    • "Make this hook more attention-grabbing"

    • "Simplify this section for beginners"

    • "Add more emotion here"

    • "Make this shorter"

  3. AI revises just that section

  4. Accept or reject the changes

Full Rewrites: Simply ask in chat:

  • "Make the entire script more energetic"

  • "Rewrite this for a younger audience"

  • "Cut this down to 45 seconds"

Saving Content from Canvas

To Save:

  1. Click the "Save" button in canvas toolbar

  2. Content is instantly saved to your Saved library

  3. You can now access it anytime at https://app.lazylines.ai/saved

What Gets Saved:

  • The complete content

  • The title

  • Timestamp of when saved

  • Associated with your current workspace

Auto-Save:

  • Canvas does NOT auto-save while you're editing

  • You must manually click "Save"

  • Don't close the chat until you've saved!

The Saved Page

Access all your saved content at https://app.lazylines.ai/saved

Features:

Search Bar:

  • Search by keyword

  • Searches through titles and content

  • Example: Search "morning routine" to find all related scripts

Saved Items Display:

  • Shows title and preview of content

  • Date saved

  • Workspace it belongs to (Business plan with multiple workspaces)

Actions for Each Item:

Open:

  • Opens the content in a new chat

  • Canvas appears with the saved content

  • You can continue editing

  • You can ask AI to modify it further

Delete:

  • Permanently removes the item

  • Cannot be undone

  • Frees up space in your library

Using Saved Content Effectively

Organization Tips:

  1. Use Descriptive Titles: When asking AI to create content, be specific so the auto-generated title is useful

    • "Write a TikTok script about morning routines" → Title: "Morning Routine TikTok Script"

  2. Save Variations: Create multiple versions of the same content and save each

    • "Script - Morning Routine - Energetic Version"

    • "Script - Morning Routine - Calm Version"

  3. Regular Cleanup: Delete old drafts you won't use to keep library manageable

Workflow Example:

  1. Ask AI to create content → appears in canvas

  2. Edit and refine in the canvas

  3. Save final version to Saved library

  4. Later: Open from Saved → Make seasonal updates → Save again

Canvas Format & Readability

Spacing Rules:

  • Short-form scripts: One sentence per paragraph (easier to read while recording)

  • Longer scripts: 2-3 sentences per paragraph

  • Scene-based content: Grouped by scene/timestamp

  • Posts and emails: Break every 2-4 sentences

No Markdown in Canvas: Canvas uses plain text formatting:

  • No bold

  • No ##headings

  • No bullet points with *

  • Just clean, readable text with proper line breaks

This makes it perfect for copying to teleprompters, notes apps, or social media post composers.
